The long awaited GTA IV trailer was finally released today giving fans of the franchise a sneak peak at the highly anticipated game from Rockstar. The trailer had been building up all month with a countdown clock on the website and a TV infomercial that ran on FX. I never saw the commercial for it, but I was standing by the site waiting for that glimpse. I for one couldn’t wait to see the trailer and was not let down at all in what I saw, even if it was brief, it gave a good peak at what the game has to offer.

The trailer shows off what seems to be a real New York city complete with Time Square and lady liberty, and not a fake version actual cities we have come to know from past games. The trailer is said be in game footage and if this is true the game looks very detailed and polished in comparison to the last several GTA games. The only thing lacking in the trailer is actual gameplay footage of the main character. The game looks beautiful, but how will it play? I for one hope Rockstar goes through the game and revamps their control style to reflect the improvements other games have made to the genre over the last couple years since San Andreas. GTA is the king of the sandbox style games, so let’s hope they pull out all the punches for their next release. Now more waiting.
