Beyond is a new drama series about Holden, a young man who wakes from a coma after 12 years. After waking he discovers he has new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now, Holden must try to figure out what happened to him during those 12 years.
He must also figure out how to survive in a world that changed while he was gone. Furthermore, Holden needs to discover why this happened to him in the first place.
Beyond will premiere on Freeform on Monday, January 2, 2017, with a special 2-hour premiere from 9pm-11pm ET/PT.
Additionally, all episodes of the first season will be available for immediate binge viewing on digital platforms on January 2nd, as well.
Beyond Interview at Stan Lee’s LA Comic Con
At Stan Lee’s LA Comic Con, Chelsea and I participated in our first round table interview with the lead actor and executive producers of this new drama series.
This panel includes lead actor Burkley Duffield (Holden) and executive producers David Eick and Adam Nussdorf.
Regrettably, some of the other interviewers spoke very low so it is difficult to hear the questions asked. Thankfully, the panel spoke up so you should be able to hear their answers.
What I found to be the most interesting part about this new series is that the storyline is focusing on the family aspect more than the sci-fi/fantasy aspect. Of course, the genre portion is important, but the relationship Holden has with the people around him after being in a coma for 12 years will be the main focus.
Honestly, how does a person adjust to the world when they’ve been gone for 12 years? I mean your entire life is completely different, especially your relationship with those around you.
I’m very interesting in this new drama series. Freeform has given us a number of excellent series to watch, so I know this will be just as fantastic.
Catch the 2-hour series premiere of Beyond, Jan. 2, 2017 on Freeform. Don’t forget after the premiere you can immediately binge the first season on all digital platforms including the Freeform app.
