Bit Bar – The Bar for Geeks in Killeen Texas

Being who I am, I never found the club and bar scene my thing. I mean, I have been to several in my life and they are fun but I never felt like I could be myself.

Then I was introduced to Bit Bar. This is a new establishment that has opened in Killeen Texas that caters to gamers, arcade enthusiasts, and geeks.

Temple of Geek decided to visit this bar on Friday night and ended up having a great time in the process.

The bar has a 5 dollar cover charge. Now I know what you are thinking? Why a cover charge? Well, this bar has arcade games all set to free play! That is right, every single arcade cabinet is free to play for the entire time you are in the bar!

They have arcade hits such as Area 51, Mortal Kombat II, House of the Dead, The Simpsons, and Captain America and the Avengers. Marcus and Vince were playing a couple of stages of Area 51.

All in all, it is a great place to hang out with friends, place some classic games, and just be a geek! Temple of Geek’s Laura happens to bar tend there, so if you are in the area, stop by and say hi!

They are located at:

701 W Elms Rd Suite 330
Killeen, Texas

Danniel Slade

Slade started Temple of Geek in 2012 with his friend as a podcast. Since then, it has become a lot more. His obsessions are Transformers, Star Wars, Classic Video Games, Superheroes, and comedies. Slade's life was turned to the Darkside when his father gave him a gift in 1985. He was presented with the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron. Since then, Slade has become a collector of the robots in disguise. The only other thing that comes close to Slade's love of Transformers is Star Wars. He has met a few of the cast over the years. Slade's one goal in life is to meet with George Lucas and just discuss movies with him.
