The United States of America day of Independence! That is why we are here. 239 years ago the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence declaring themselves a new nation and no longer a part of the British Empire. HELLS YEAH FREEDOM!
In celebration, the Geeks of Temple of Geek have gone through their movie collections, gone to the depths of the internet and made the most difficult decision of their lives…. WHAT IS EACH OF OUR FAVORITE U.S. OF A INSPIRED MOVIE????
Get those American Flags ready because here is our list of favorites:
Katie – Independence Day
My favorite U. S. of A inspired movie is 1996 classic Independence Day. In my opinion, this movie has everything I’m looking for in a badass 4th of July movie. It has an alien invasion, Will Smith (he’s a national treasure), fighter jets, Jeff Goldblum, and one badass speech giving President who can fly a fighter jet. I mean come on that is what I call a movie.
The almost destruction of the human race will not stop America from rising up and leading the charge to victory because that’s just what we do. WE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM! Bill Pullman also gives one of the best President speeches in movie history. This speech was so FANTASTIC that some of the extras thought he was the actual President. F YEAH!!!!!!!!
So if you haven’t seen this movie, which is ridiculous because everyone should see this movie especially on the 4th of July, GO WATCH IT, please.
WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT! WE WILL NOT VANISH WITHOUT A FIGHT! WE’RE GOING TO LIVE ON! WE’RE GOING TO SURVIVE! TODAY WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!!!!!!
Danniel – Team America
The evil Kim Jung Ill is trying to take over the world and it is up to Team America to Stop him!
Nothing quite screams ‘Murica than this fantastic comedy by Matt Parker and Trey Stone. My favorite part of this movie is the music! You know, freedom isn’t free, there is a hefty F***ing fee. The acting was bad, the puppeteering was even worse, but that is what makes this movie great.
I know that this is not the type of movie that people think of when they talk about patriotic films, but if this song does not make you proud to be an America, than you must be a bloody Commie!
