The 8th Annual Long Beach Comic Con will take place Saturday, September 17th and 18th, 2016 at the Long Beach Convention Center. This year’s convention will feature an impressive array of more than 120 pop culture guests, more than 130 panels, and unique partnerships with the Columbia Memorial Space Center and Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.

This year’s convention will feature for the first time Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester, who played Batman and Robin on Batman: The Animated Series. As well as, Summer Glau, Sean Maher, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite from Joss Whedon’s FIREFLY… And just added NATHAN FILLION (Saturday Only!).

Additionally, Andy Park, a Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor and Lead Concept Artist and acclaimed comic book creators including Peter David and Colleen Doran (AMAZING FANTASTIC INCREDIBLE), Steve Epting (VELVET), Joelle Jones (LADY KILLER) and Joe Eisma and Nick Spencer (MORNING GLORIES) will be in attendance.

The Columbia Memorial Space Center will partner with Long Beach Comic Con for Space Expo 2016. This innovative and one-of-a-kind program that connects comic book convention attendees directly with the world of scientific discovery.

In addition, this year Long Beach Comic Con will also have more than 400 Girl Scouts in grades K–12 attending Long Beach Comic Con, with nearly 100 of them coming from underserved areas. Depending on their grade level, the girls will earn Comic Artist, Drawing, Senses, Novelist, or career exploration-related badges for meeting with talented creators and participating in interactive workshops.

Program Highlights – What To Expect at Long Beach Comic Con

– Programming will spotlight TV shows like: Batman: The Animated Series, Con Man, Firefly, and GI Joe. 

– Long Beach Public Library will be hosting DOCTOR WHO panels

– 2 Full days of cosplay panels and a cosplay contest Saturday Night.

– Panels devoted to fan favorite comic books characters including

  • Batman, Harley Quinn, and the Teen Titans

– Publishers Dark Horse Comics, DC Entertainment, First Comics, Image Comics, and Marvel will bring us additional panels featuring fan-favorite characters.

– #MakeComics workshops, where aspiring writers and artists can learn from comic book pros.

– Kids Programing!

– The popular GeekFest Film Festival

– A screening of the popular Harry Potter fan film Severus Snape & The Marauders

OKAY……. I am a huge HP fan and an even bigger Severus Snape fan. I can’t believe I’m just hearing about this fan film right now. This looks amazing. I am totally attending this screening and I will be bringing my Snape Wand.

The convention opens Saturday, September 17th from 10:00am – 7:00pm, advanced ticket holders can get in at 9:30am. On Sunday, September 18th the convention runs from 10:00am – 5:00pm at the Long Beach Convention Center.
