Our top stories of the week! News about Star Wars, Con Man, Age of Ultron Posters, and we also say goodbye to a beloved author…

Art Imitates Life

Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillon’s new original project has made a whopping $1.6 million, and it’s still growing. Con Man will be an online comedy web series inspired by their experiences going to conventions after the cancellation of Firefly. In the show, Tudyk and Fillon’s characters starred in their own cancelled television show and dealing with their lingering fame…sound familiar? Check out a first look at the show below.

Farewell, Sir Terry Pratchett

Unfortunately, we can’t have happy without sad. Thursday morning, we lost a brilliant fantasy writer. He was most well-known for creating Discworld and co-writing Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch with Neil Gaimen (one of my favorite books of all-time). Pratchett satirized our world and created a marvelous one on his own.

The series of tweets, written by Pratchett’s daughter Rhianna, honor Pratchett and the Discworld character, Death, who is arguably Pratchett’s greatest creations. Death would speak in block capital letters. Pratchett suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, or in his words “the Embuggerance,” for the past eight years. He was and will always be remembered for his pragmatic sense of humor.

STAR WARS MANIA

Three of the next Star Wars films have official dates. Here they are:

Star Wars: Rogue One is the first in a series of spin-offs for the franchise. We’re still waiting on plot details, but what we do know is that the lovely Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) will play the leading character. Wow, that feels good to write. And shout out to a Temple of Geek follower who pointed out that the end of the year will include many back-and-forth trips to the movie theater, thanks to the next installments of The Terminator and Jurassic Park, in addition to all the Marvel films coming out. Ultra Awesome Speaking of Marvel, the last two posters for Team Good Guys in Age of Ultron are here at last. Here they are, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, in full awesomeness.

quicksilver scarlet witch Am I crazy or does Scarlet’s hands look like the usual Doctor Strange pose? Could this be foreshadowing? Even if it’s not, the twins look seriously cool.
