According to their website, The World Cosplay Summit began in 2003 in Nagoya Japan. It’s aim was to bring together the cosplay community from around the world.  It has grown to an event that includes cosplayers from more than 30 countries. It is open to cosplayers and spectators.  The World Cosplay Summit (WCS) is a competition focused around cosplay (costuming & performance), it is coordinated by WCS inc. The 2018 summit will be a full 9 days and will take place from July 28th -August 5th 2018. Currently there are 35 countries who have been invited by WCS 2018 to compete.
