Christmas is almost here and with it comes the annual Doctor Who Christmas Special. This year the special, ‘Twice Upon A Time’, will include the regeneration of the Twelfth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Capaldi, into the Thirteenth Doctor who will be played by Jodie Whittaker. Though we will miss Peter Capaldi very much, there is a group of cosplayers who are very excited and already welcoming Jodie as the new Doctor by cosplaying in her various known outfits. There have been three outfits revealed for the 13th Doctor so far. The outfit the 12th Doctor will be wearing when he regenerates into the 13th Doctor,  the coat and hoodie outfit from the reveal announcement, and the promo outfit where Jodie is seen wearing a long coat and stripped shirt.

First attempt. Pants and boots are both too small so going to have to swap those out. Pants are a bit too dark anyway. Need to dye the suspenders in tea to darken them. Still, not a bad overall look. Just need the coat. #13thdoctorcosplay

I COSPLAYED THE 13TH DOCTOR!!! Being 13 feels really amazing. I don’t know how to explain it and neither do I want to waffle on, but there’s something particularly powerful being a character that you’ve always dreamed about being. Like it’s official, it’s confirmed, its REAL and I don’t have to justify a female Doctor anymore. I remember before Capaldi was announced I had a badge that said “I am the new Doctor” and everyone used to poke fun because I wasn’t a guy. I keep forgetting to add my #13thdoctor cosplay improvements to the list of things I should be doing right about now. The coat needs definite improvement, the pants need an upgrade, and I’m sitting on a screen accurate version of the top; ready to take it for a spin.
