Monthly Games Guide: June 2026

As we roll into the hot summer months, we have a magnificent roster of games to keep you out of the summer heat. Whether you’re looking for the black-and-white world of a 2D sidescroller or the dynamic fighting universe of UFC 6, there’s sure to be a gem in this list for all. And no matter how, or where, you play; we have something for you too. And with no more fanfare, let’s dive into our June game guide.

Pour Boy and the Nitro Necromancer

If you’re someone who isn’t human before their first coffee, this game may be just the thing to kick off your gaming in June. Set in the haunted coffee world of Pour Boy Coffee, this beautiful hand-drawn 2D action platformer is sure to turn heads. Players traverse varying levels fighting coffee-themed monsters such as zombrews, discover collectibles, and explore questlines. The culmination of all your hard work is the chance to face the Nitro Necromancer. But as simple as this may sound, there is one thing looming that can’t be ignored. The Moon. As time ticks, the moon gets closer. If the timer runs out before you finish your questing, the moon swallows you and your run whole, forcing players start over from the beginning.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – Switch 2 Edition

Handheld fans of the Final Fantasy VII universe can rejoice as the second game in the remake trilogy is set to hit Switch 2 this summer. Rebirth picks up after Cloud and company escape Midgar, contiunig their quest to stop Shinra from draining the planet’s lifestream. Of course, Sephiroth also adds chaos to their quest. Players can expect beautiful and varying regions to explore, quests and minigames galore, and traversals across much of these vistas on the back of your beloved Chocobo. Nintendo is offering a free demo available now as well as save data bonuses for those who have date from Intergrade and Intermission.

The Quiet Things

With Mixtape transporting players to the nostalgia of childhood wrapping up, if you’re looking for something similar – look no further. The Quiet Things is autobiographical, built off the real diary entries, police records, and other first-hand reports to create the story of Alice. Set in the 2000s, players can expect music and other pieces of that timeline, but from a British perspective. Alice, the main character, takes solace in music, so be prepared for a poignant soundtrack. This is a narrative adventure that calls back to those early days of being an adolescent.; growing up, fitting in, and making sense of it all. There are heavy themes present in this game with the intention of giving survivors the strength to find their voices and silence the stigma that often accompanies these experiences.

Solarpunk

Cozy meets survival in this futuristic base-building game. Set in the future where humanity lives among the clouds on floating islands, players can enjoy the experience alone or with friends. Collect items and materials to build houses, start your own farm, and traverse between islands with your airship. For players who really love creating their owns spaces, the customization in this game is top notch and only limited really by imagination. True to the theme of solar-punk, all energy is generating via wind and the sun. Farming doesn’t just stop at crops, which are your main source of food in-game. Players can also have animals that if well-loved and cared for with coexist happily, assisting in their own unique ways. If you loved Outbound, a game we featured last Month, Solarpunk may be your newest cozy adventure.

Voidling Bound

Does the term “space wrangler” perk your interest? In the world of Voidling Bound, you can become just that. Dive into this sci-fi third person shooter where you control adorable creatures known as Voildings. Each Voidling has their own skillset and upgradeable abilities to fight off enemies and reclaim their beloved planet from corruption. With an expansive evolution path, players can choose the perfect fighter for their adventure. Or simply choose the cutest Voidling, the choice is yours. Customization for each critter runs deep, allowing for a truly personal experience for each player. Save bright and colorful worlds with your adorable yet lethal Voidlings. Mission completion yields progress as well as resources such as research points, eggs, and more. Hatching these eggs grows your vivarium and similar to another adorable run of pocket monsters, fill your voidapedia with all the darling creatures available.

Denshattack!

Lace up your sneakers as you hop aboard your gravity-defying train and fly through the bright and colorful streets of Japan. Perform varying tricks across busy cities, meadows, and more; gaining points to hit the high score across each level. With each kickflip, players are trying to gain the respect of underground gangs and rebels, all with the goal of defeating the evil Miraido Corporation. With bosses as eclectic as the terrain, traverse the ranks from beginner to pro and earn the title of fastest train in existence and legendary Denshattacker.

Fire Lookout: Abandoned Post

This atmospheric first-person game is set in the Summit Ridge National Park. A narrative-driven game, players can expect psychological horror and mystery as they jump into the shoes of a newly hired lookout. Exploration is key in this semi-open world map. Progression is triggered through conversations and alternative actions based on dialogue choices, giving replayability should you want to return to make different decisions. This is an immersive story for those who enjoy deep story with simple mechanics throughout. Grab your compass and radio and discover the mysteries awaiting.

The Adventures of Elliott: The Millennium Tales

Fans of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default may be interested in the newest game from the same creators. Play as Elliott with his fairy friend Faie on their journey to fulfill a thousand-year mission. With multiple weapon types and magic to boot, players can truly play and battle how they want. Wield up to two weapons as you fight against varying beasts and utilize magic to both fight and solve puzzles on your quest. A prologue demo is currently available with save data transferring over to the full game. This demo is the first chapter of Elliott’s story and a great way to bide time before the full release. UFC 6

Join former UFC champions Alex Pereira and Max Holloway as they headline the newest installation in the UFC game series. Developers aimed for a truly immersive experience with a more dynamic fight experience alongside deep storytelling. Emotion meets physical prowess in a detailed story sure to stick with players. Implemented in this newest installation is the usage of something called Frostbite. Frostbite aims to create a more realistic experience through ragdoll physics, realistic contact windows and damage as well as true-to-life hit reactions. The aim is to make the fighting action as real as possible and bring the hype of the octagon directly to your couch or gaming chair. Those who preorder the ultimate edition get tons of in-game goodies such as passes and cosmetics as well as being able to access the game seven days early.

Star Fox

Fans of the 1997 original Star Fox title are sure to rejoice at the news of a Switch 2 exclusive remake coming this month. While the game retains the arcade-style combat, players can expect massive updates as outlined in its launch announcement here. Protect the Lylat system from the evil scientist, Andross. This fast-paced adventure spans across many planets as players rip through space, fighting enemies along the way to prevent invasion. Whether solo or playing with friends using online multiplayer, Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team is at the ready to prevent galactic calamity.
