Previously known as Stan Lee’s Comic-Con, L.A. Comic-Con enters its 8th year in Los Angeles, full of amazing panels, countless photography sessions, and celebrity guest appearance! It is thrilling to see improvements made in terms of setting, structure, and more.
The Cosplay
The Cosplay never ceases to amaze me. There seems to be a trend every year, depending on which popular movie is released. two years ago when WE first visited, it was Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, the year after was Pennywise from IT the film. This year was both Spider-Man and Venom, due to the film Venom and the release of the Spider-Man video game that has swept the gamers off their feet. The fun part about both these characters is how diverse they are in terms of costumes, genders, races, and more, thanks to the multi-verse. Outside of the popular cosplays, there was countless more to go around. Iron Giant? Got it. Gundam? Definitely. All 13 Doctors from Doctor Who? Absolutely. Whether popular or under the radar, someone will cosplay and something you are a fan off, guaranteed. Cosplaying at the event myself, it was very encouraging to see people ask to see my props and handle them with care. As always, consent is very crucial for cosplayers, regardless if they made their costume and props or not.
Overall
Los Angeles once again prevails as a fantastic convention for all to visit and participate in, having something for every nerd. Whether you are a comic book addict, bookworm, sci-fi enthusiasts, or fantasy fanatic, L.A. Comic-Con definitely has something for you. Visitors from all over can definitely appreciate the structure, the location, and much more.
