Ashley Rose, aka @shly18, fangirls over books, including the works of Victoria Schwab and Leigh Bardugo. She also loves Star Wars and Marvel, with an emphasis on Peggy Carter and Captain Marvel. Her style, described as “vintage librarian geeky,” embraces geeky tees, midi skirts, and Oxford heels.
What are your diehard fandoms?
Oh, definitely Star Wars and Marvel. I have a lightsaber hanging in my kitchen and I’ve recently added a Captain America shield to my collection, thanks to my boyfriend. Books are also a big one for me. We’d be here all day if I talked about my favorite books, but two of my absolute favorite authors are Victoria Schwab and Leigh Bardugo.
How would you describe your personal geek style?
Someone once referred to me as vintage librarian geeky and I honestly kinda love it. I definitely love adding in a vintage feel with my nerdy pieces. I don’t know that I really have an inspiration, but I adore everything Peggy Carter wears. I want the entire wardrobe from that show.
What favorite geek fashion items can be found in your closet?
I love a good geeky t-shirt. There are so many options to dress them up for work, or something more casual. Geeky necklaces and earrings are a go-to as well! And I’ve always got my Star Wars mini backpack from Loungefly.
Describe your go-to geeky outfit.
A geeky tee and a midi skirt is probably my go-to. Add in some Oxford heels for dressier or ankle boots or Chucks for more casual. I’ve been tucking my tees with high-waisted jeans lately, that’s definitely becoming a go-to as well.
Where do you find yourself searching or shopping the most for your geek fashion needs?
I get so many of my shirts from @jordandenenyc. They’re subtle and perfect to pair with a midi skirt for work or jeans for a more casual look. @teamneville has the best geeky jewelry. I have a ridiculous amount of cuff bracelets and necklaces from her. I have Cap’s Endgame speech on a cuff bracelet and it’s amazing.
Feel free to shout out any personal geeky passions, projects, or business endeavors:
I’ve started running social media for a new geeky apparel shop, @nebulanicetiesllc, which is definitely going to become a geeky go-to for me. So many good pop culture and bookish designs.
