Hulk Actor, Mark Ruffalo, Celebrates 10th Anniversary of “The Avengers”

May 4th is not only a day that is considered amongst fans to celebrate another Disney franchise from a galaxy far, far, away but is also the original premiere release date of Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. This year fans can honor and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the film’s original release. One of those fans celebrating seems to be an Avenger himself, actor Mark Ruffalo, who has been known to play as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has made quite an indelible and long-lasting impact in the superhero and comic book movie genre generating millions and even billions at the box office. While some may debate otherwise, the first Iron Man film starring Robert Downey Jr. helped spawn a fandom that resulted in the mass appeal to the superhero genre to global and epic proportions.  If you haven’t been following him on social media, Ruffalo has often posted about his “friends from work” as he was part of the cast that made up the original 6 Avengers consisting of Hawkeye/Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans).

Today, Mark Ruffalo celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the release of The Avengers by taking to his own social media via his official Instagram page and sharing a clip of his transformation into The Hulk during the Battle of New York, which can be seen below:

Mark Ruffalo also added to his celebration by posting and sharing viral clips from other social media users on TikTok through his Instagram stories. Readers here would have to go to his Instagram account to watch them before they expire. Fellow Avenger, Jeremy Renner, following Ruffalo’s post, reshared that clip through his own Instagram stories in his own way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of The Avengers.

To date, Mark Ruffalo has made a total of 8 appearances in current releases in the MCU from the following films and features: The Avengers, Iron Man 3 (post-credits scene), Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios What If…?, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Ruffalo is to be seen in the forthcoming release of the Marvel Studios She-Hulk TV series that will be streaming on Disney Plus.

It’s a nice nerdy timeline cleanse to see Mark Ruffalo supporting his fellow castmates and being a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am excited to see how his character has evolved after the events of Endgame while anticipating his upcoming appearance in She-Hulk on Disney Plus alongside actress Tatiana Maslany as the titular character. There is currently no official release date for the upcoming series. Finally, while his character may be green, off-screen Ruffalo is an active voice being green for the environmental justice community.
