Play NYC Brings A Gaming Hall to AnimeNYC

Play NYC is one of New York’s premiere gaming conventions and is organzied by Playcrafting. For the first time, Play NYC will have its own dedicated area within AnimeNYC’s brand-new 80,000 sq. ft. gaming hall, bringing together two of New York City’s most beloved conventions.

AnimeNYC and Play NYC’s collaboration promises to create an unparalleled event, drawing fans of all ages to celebrate their shared passions. Attendees can look forward to a weekend filled with exciting activities, engaging panels, and opportunities to connect with fellow fans from all over the country.

From concepts to demos to early access to games about to be released, fans can play what just might be the next viral hit game. Fans will get to talk to developers in real time about what it’s like being a game developer, the various disciplines within game development, and how they can get into game development. Fans also get to provide feedback on the games in real-time, this feedback is incredibly beneficial to developers as they implement playtesting feedback into their game development roadmap. Fans get to experience games that are often only shown at Play NYC, rare glimpses into games that nobody else can play until they are released!

Developers interested in showcasing their games at the event can apply via AnimeNYC’s website.

About Playcrafting

Playcrafting is the largest network of game developers in New York. Started as a small Meetup group in 2009, the organization has grown to 30,000 strong across the U.S. From design and programming to business and beyond, developers come to Playcrafting to sharpen their skills and partner with companies that help them succeed. The organization’s hands-on classes lower the barrier for entry for anyone to get started making games and to empower pros to level up their skills.

Playcrafting hosts everything from local gatherings like Expos and Demo and Plays to industry-recognized annual events like Play NYC and the largest Global Game Jam site in the U.S. The organization offers over 100 courses and events annually. Partnerships like Bose and Niantic unlock the power of game creators and generate brand-new games that weren’t otherwise possible. Previous partners include Facebook, Verizon, IBM, NFL and more.
