Kayli Mills Introduces Audiences to Her Character, Anna Scervino, in My Hero Academia: You’re Next

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is coming to North American theaters on October 11, 2024. The film follows the students of Hero Course Class 1-A of UA High School as they battle an imposter of a hero they adore, All Might. As they chase down a villain, they come across what looks like a young girl being taken by the villain. However, the students soon learn that Anna Scervino is no ordinary girl.

Kayli Mills tells us about who Anna Scervino is in My Hero Academia: You’re Next. With a laugh, she says, “She’s very cute. Very mindful. Very demure.” Kayli goes on to introduce Anna a little more:

So, she is a character who, at first glance, she’s just like, oh she’s a happy rich girl. That’s great. But, you realize that she actually has a lot of stuff brewing underneath. So, the fact that she’s able to smile and be joyful in the way that she is is amazing. So, that’s the kind of character Anna is, and you’re really going to hope for her happiness.

Kayli also talks about how amazing it is to be part of the My Hero Academia franchise.

I’ve been a fan of the franchise since it first started, and I was at the movie like, for fun as a guest of a friend four years ago, the second movie. So, getting to be here as an actor is pretty amazing for me.

About My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is an anime and manga series created by Kohei Horikoshi. In this world, most people have “quirks,” or special powers. However, Izuku Midoriya (also known as Deku), the main character of the series, is born without a quirk. Japan’s Number 1 Hero, All Might, bestows his own quick upon Midoriya, which allows him to join a class of heroes-in-training at UA High School. The students of UA High School are training to be the next generation of heroes.

The manga recently finished as of this year, after ten years of publication in Shonen Jump. There are seven seasons of the anime and three films, with My Hero Academia: You’re Next being the fourth. Watch each season, streaming on Crunchyroll.
