The NAVA Foundation to Honor Keith David with 2024 Voiceover Icon Award

The National Association of Voice Actors Foundation (NAVA) announced the recipients of their various honors to be presented at their second annual fundraising gala this year on December 4th. Three-time Emmy winner Keith David will receive the prestigious Voiceover Icon Award. David’s career spans decades and mediums. David has lent his unmistakable voice to hit series like “Rick & Morty“, popular video games including Call of Duty, and narrated award-winning PBS documentaries.

“Keith David is an absolute legend in voiceover,” says Tim Friedlander, president of NAVA. “He has inspired so many voice actors over his decades in the industry, and we could not think of a better person to honor with this award.”

Recipients of More Awards Also Announced by NAVA

David is not the only honoree that will receive recognition from NAVA in December. The non-profit association, which advocates and promotes the advancement of the voice acting industry, will also award the following individuals and organizations at the event.

SkillsHub, founded by Jennifer Hale, Carren Dujela, and Bill Reid, will receive the The VO Service Provider Award.

Both Isabella Flores and Samantha Peller, founders of The Vocal Victims Advocacy Group will receive NAVA’s Be Brad VO Community Award.

The annual NAVA Foundation Benefit Gala celebrates voice actors and the voiceover industry, while helping raise funds for its foundation. The NAVA Foundation supports voice actors with emergency funds, scholarships to industry events, education, legal aid, information on navigating emerging technology and AI, contract review, and more.

The event, set to take place at the Skirball Center on December 4th, is already sold out. It’s a feather in the cap for the nascent organization, whose inaugural benefit last year raised north of $60,000. Yet, NAVA’s success and support also signals to the importance and immediacy of the work the organization does.

If one is still interested in attending or supporting the cause, the gala’s waitlist is open. In addition to the presentation of the aforementioned awards, NAVA promises a silent and live auction, presentations by industry professionals, dinner, and dancing at the benefit.
