Marvel Rivals: Cap v Bucky.

Marvel Rivals Celebrates Upcoming Release with Launch Trailer

Marvel Rivals, the upcoming competitive PVP team shooter from NetEase Games, releases December 6. To celebrate, they’ve released a new launch trailer, showcasing a handful of the game’s new playable characters. Check out the trailer below:

This stylish cinematic (featuring music from Chrissy Costanza) shows off recently announced characters in action. From Wolverine to Black Widow and even Iron Fist, the roster looks to offer many of the fan favorites you’d expect, as well as some deep cuts (looking at you, Squirrel Girl). We also got the reveal of the new map Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface, which you can check out here.

Marvel Rivals is a competitive team-based PVP shooter in a similar vein to Overwatch. In it, you’ll pick a role and support your team to come out on top. In Rivals, roles are what you’d expect from a game like this: you have DPS (Duelists), tanks (Vanguard) and healers (Strategists). Choose from your favorite Marvel heroes and villains and battle your way through destructible environments and objective-based game modes. The game is free-to-play, and Marvel and NetEase have assured players that all upcoming content and characters will be free as well.

In our hands-on impressions of the closed beta, we said:

The art style and graphics of Marvel Rivals really impressed me. It’s got a cartoony look that perfectly captures the essence of a comic book. It reminds me a lot of Overwatch, not just in aesthetics but in the way it requires players to get to grips with the diverse heroes, each possessing unique abilities. This, coupled with the learning of effective strategies, emotes, MVP scenes, and sprays, makes for a deeply engaging experience. The matches are also of a comfortable duration, neither too long nor too short.

Marvel Rivals launches December 6 0:00 UTC (which is 4PM PT) on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
