Fans were transported back to the realm of Westeros on Thursday, as HBO unveiled the official teaser for the highly anticipated new series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Specifically, the reveal came during a packed panel on the Empire Stage at New York Comic Con (NYCC), thereby sending a wave of excitement through the dedicated fanbase.
The new original half-hour drama series is based on the beloved “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas by George R.R. Martin and is set a century before the events of Game of Thrones. It follows the endearing adventures of an unlikely duo: a young, naive, but courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (played by Peter Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (played by Dexter Sol Ansell). Moreover, their journey takes place in an age when the Targaryen dynasty still reigns supreme and the memory of the last dragon remains fresh in living memory.
Creators and Stars “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” Grace the Stage
The panel itself was a particular joy for fans, for they were treated to the presence of both the creator of this incredible new series, co-creator and executive producer George R.R. Martin, and the creator of the entire world of Westeros. Furthermore, Martin was joined on stage by co-creator/showrunner Ira Parker and the series’ stars, Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, to introduce the show and share a glimpse of the adventure awaiting viewers. Indeed, the convergence of the literary and on-screen architects of this world was a clear highlight for those in attendance.

The series promises to chronicle the great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits that await the improbable and incomparable friends, Dunk and Egg.
