It’s time to take on the most relentless enemies with the Star Trek™: Star Realms® – Borg: Invasion. This expansion introduces new ways to play, featuring both cooperative and player-versus-player modes. Decide if you want to join forces or allow one player to play behind the role of the Borg. The Borg: Invasion expansion supports cooperative and solo play for up to 4+ players. Player vs. player mode can accommodate up to 3 players.
Star Trek: Star Realms has similar mechanics to games like Hero Realms and other deck-building games. No prior knowledge of Star Trek is required to enjoy this game. That said, Star Trek enthusiasts will likely appreciate the inclusion of factions, ships, and locations.

The Borg utilize advanced assimilation technology and brutal tactics to dominate their opponents. Their unique abilities can quickly turn the tide of the game with new strategies:
Their assimilation technology enables them to take control of opposing ships. This ability enables them to expand their growing fleet, making them a formidable threat.
Impenetrable forcefields make standard attacks fail to do damage. This ability makes them tough to take down.
The Borg launch relentless drone swarms, which can easily overwhelm their enemy forces. Leveraging these new skills can lead to the execution of powerful and lethal combos.

Introducing New Mechanics & Foes
Hive Integration cards showcase different game modes on each side. When you activate a Hive Integration card, place it on the Borg board. Use the “Borg Assimilate” action from a card, and put it into play alongside the matching faction’s Hive Integration card. This action immediately triggers the card’s effect.
In PVP mode, the Borg player can trigger any matching faction Ally abilities. This can rack up combos quickly. At the start of the Borg player’s turn, all Hive Integration cards are placed back into their pile.

Forcefields cards display two sides: a color side that signals an active effect and a gray side that shows its inactive state. Whenever the Borg are attacked, they generate forcefields. The card effects protect Borg shops, Drones, and Assimilated cards from damage. When a Forcefield is active, it moves to the Borg board.

Drone cards target players to Assimilate their ship and location cards. The greater the number of cards the Borg Assimilate, the more powerful they become. In Cooperative and Solo mode, players shuffle these cards into the Trade Deck after filling the Trade Row. In PVP, the Borg player assigns Drones to players.

Gambits are powerful ability cards that provide strategic advantages at key moments. Gambits add new layers of strategy, helping players shift the momentum in battle—whether they’re fighting against the Borg or commanding them.

You can use Gambits in any game of Star Trek: Star Realms. However, Borg Gambits are only used in PVP mode.
