A Preview of AnimeCTX

Over the past few years anime conventions in Texas have been on the rise. With cons like Akon having to completely move locations due to growth; it is clear that Anime Conventions have experienced an incredible growth over the past few years. AnimeCTX is no exception, featuring such guests as Jerry Jewel, Lisa Ortiz, and Jessica Calvello. They too are experiencing incredible growth and it shows in all their events and guests.

AnimeCTX is an Austin based anime convention located at the Austin Marriott North. They offer all the benefits of many of the larger cons at nearly half the registration price.  Their location, Austin Marriott North is a 4 star hotel centrally located near food and events. Although you might assume rooms at the Austin Marriott North come with a hot price-tag, rooms are still available for only $115 per night.

   The convention is less than 10 miles away from the Inner Space Cavern and less than a mile away from Escapology Austin. Restaurants less than a mile away include: River City Grille and Lounge, The Original Brooklyn Pie Co., and Bo Asian Bistro.

   Decidely, this con offer many events to attend during the weekend. Their Screening Room will be screening titles such as Yuri on Ice, Tigermask, and Goma-Chan. They will also be featuring their cosplay contest and Idol Festiv@l. Despite the cutoff for being able to register for their cosplay contest already having past, you can still go and enjoy all the cosplayers.

    It’s not too late to attend! AnimeCTX is still offering pre-registration until August 4th and special VIP Ichiban registration all weekend of the con.
