‘Among Us’ Coming Soon to Xbox Game Pass for PC

One of the biggest gaming hits of 2020 is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC. Xbox announced today that InnerSloth’s Among Us will be coming to the service soon. It is an online and local party game of teamwork and betrayal for 4-10 players. Set in space with adorably violent alien creatures.

There is very little information on Among Us coming to Xbox PC or it will end up on consoles as well. Xbox has promised more information soon. Currently, Among Us is a cross-platform play between PC, Android, and iOS! It was originally created as a party game but due to its very simple online gaming and cross-platform components, you can play with friends or with strangers.

You can play with 4-10 players online or via local WiFi as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure. You are assigned to be a crewmate or an imposter. No one knows who is the imposter.  There can be anywhere from 1-3 imposters at a time.
If you are a crewmate, you and the rest of the crewmates can win the game by completing tasks to prepare the ship or ejecting all Impostors into space by vote.
If you are chosen as an imposter (the computer chooses you), your job is to kill crewmates and frame bystanders. 

It is a very simple and extremely fun game to play. With the best actor usually making the best Imposters. It has over 500 million players online and has won the Golden Joystick Award’s Breakthrough Award in gaming. It has inspired thousands of Tik Tok videos and cosplays. It’s a game that even United States congresswomen play.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez played Among Us alongside Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and several other popular streamers as a way to reach out to gamers and encourage them to vote in the 2020 Presidential election.

Given that part of the game’s popularity and appeal is the simple to use chat features and the cross-platform component, it would be exciting to see if Xbox and InnerSlouth could find a way to bring it to consoles and not just the Xbox PC.
