Anime NYC 2025 was buzzing with energy as fans packed the room for Netflix’s highly anticipated anime and animation showcase. Hosted by Jackie Jing, the panel delivered major announcements, exclusive trailers, and some heartfelt fan moments — including the anime voice acting debut of Vinnie Hacker.
Exclusive Reveals at the Anime NYC Netflix Panel: Record of Ragnarok, Blue Eye Samurai, and More
The panel wasn’t short on surprises. Netflix rolled out brand-new trailers and sneak peeks for some of its most popular titles:
- “Record of Ragnarok” — The gods vs. humans saga continues with a new trailer showcasing earth-shaking battles and intense new character reveals.
- “Blue Eye Samurai” Season 2 — Creators Michael Green and Jane Wu previewed the upcoming season, highlighting deeper dives into Mizu’s journey and new characters fans may not expect. Wu emphasized the importance of authentic representation, saying: “We wanted to portray a strong Asian woman who isn’t a trope, but real.”
- “Splinter Cell (Animated Series)” — Producer Derek Kolstad (creator of “John Wick”) gave fans a first look at the adaptation of the beloved Tom Clancy video game franchise. He promised gritty, imperfect action with Sam Fisher as well as a new protégé character voiced by Kirby McKenna.

Vinnie Hacker, Voice of Slur
Jackie Jing brought Vinnie Hacker to the stage to a thunderous welcome from the crowd. For Hacker, who grew up watching anime, stepping into the booth for the first time was a dream come true.
“It’s amazing,” Hacker told the audience. “I’ve been watching anime since I was a kid, and seeing voice actors express so much emotion inspired me to try it myself. To see all the hard work pay off — and to have this kind of support — it’s surreal.”
When asked about his character, Hacker described him as “complicated — charming, but dangerous. You never know if he’s going to shake your hand or take you out, and that unpredictability makes him so cool to play.”
Of course, fans also pressed him on his personal favorites. Hacker named “Vinland Saga,” “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” and “Dragon Ball” as his top three anime of all time.
The Fan Experience
True to Jackie Jing’s high-energy style, the panel kept the audience on their feet with cheers, chants, and even a giant crowd selfie to cap off the day.
“You guys are amazing,” Jackie said as fans filled the hall with applause. “This is what makes conventions so special — we get to celebrate anime, gaming, and storytelling together.”
Final Takes
Between exclusive world premieres, behind-the-scenes insights, and Vinnie Hacker’s heartfelt debut, Netflix’s Anime NYC 2025 panel was a love letter to fans and a statement that its anime lineup isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
From epic clashes in “Record of Ragnarok” to the stylish blood-soaked path of “Blue Eye Samurai” and the stealth action of “Splinter Cell,” Netflix proved once again that its anime slate has something for everyone.
