“Baby Blues Nightmare” Prologue Review

“The game may contain blood, violence, and sensitive topics that some audience may find upsetting.”

The magic of a child’s imagination is remarkable. For children, their dolls are not just toys but cherished companions on grand adventures. ‘Baby Blues Nightmare‘ has an objective that revolves around a mission to locate these beloved dolls, regardless of the obstacles. Players control a toddler wandering through their home in a desperate attempt to find their dolls while being hunted by a horrific creature. Created by one developer (Steelkrill Studio), ‘Baby Blues Nightmare’ takes on a unique idea of bringing players into a toddler’s perspective.

Nightmares at Every Turn

In a chilling setup amidst a backdrop of shattered mannequins, scattered porcelain limbs, and sharp-toothed plushies, what we witness is filtered through the innocence of a child’s perception, transforming a potentially gruesome scene into something a tad less terrifying. Observing through the lens of how a child’s view softens the darker edges of reality is a thrilling and creative idea to play through.

The game introduces a captivating “blink mechanic” that heightens the suspense, making the atmosphere the game’s biggest strength. Players will genuinely feel the vulnerability of navigating this nightmare from the perspective of a toddler ensnared in a house of horrors.

Avoid the terrors lurking in your home by using stealth and fleeing the threat. Broken toys and debris can also give you away, so watch your step!

Another interesting mechanic is that your toddler does indeed cry. The sound of crying alerts enemies to your location, compromising your position. To maintain your happiness level, consume chocolates. Chocolates make everything better, after all.

As you reclaim your tricycle, the Prologue concludes, marked by the emergence of a mysterious figure just before the monstrous creature makes its return. The Prologue seamlessly establishes an atmosphere of intrigue and narrative anticipation. The blend of mystery and suspense has piqued my interest, leaving me eager to uncover the sinister and hidden truths lurking within the confines of the toddler’s home.

Baby Blues Nightmares” Prologue is available for ‘Free to Play’ on Steam. The full game with all chapters is also available for purchase.
