Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is releasing Babylon 5 on Blu-ray for the first time ever! In celebration of its 30th anniversary, all 110 episodes of the groundbreaking, original sci-fi television series will be available for purchase in December.
Babylon 5 is an American space opera television series created by writer and producer J. Michael Straczynski. The critically acclaimed franchise debuted in 1993 with the pilot film, The Gathering. Bablyon 5 then launched a year later and ran for five seasons and 110 additional episodes, from 1994-1998. A future-history story covering the years 2257–2262, with each year corresponding to one season, Babylon 5 was the first series ever to introduce viewers to the concept of a five-year arc. There was a defined beginning, middle, and end. This structure ended up paving the way for a number of later series.
Just in time for the holiday season, Bablyon 5: The Complete Series will be on Blu-ray beginning December 5th. Each of the 110 original episodes will be fully remastered in HD. This is a highly anticipated release that fans don’t want to miss! Pre-orders can be purchased from online retailers.
San Diego Comic-Con is taking place July 20-23, 2023. On Saturday, July 22, Babylon 5 writer and producer, J. Michael Straczynski, will be participating in a Q and A panel following the premiere of the new animated feature, Babylon 5: The Road Home. The Road Home is a continuation story of the original series. John Sheridan finds himself transported through multiple, alternate realities and timelines. On his quest to return home, John is reunited with familiar faces while he discovers new cosmic revelations about the universe.
