Best thing from the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer are the memes

The best thing from the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer is the memes. The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was leaked a day before it was supposed to be released. A grainy video began to circulate around the internet and so did the memes.

Spider-Man No Way Home leaked photo of someone watching the trailer on a cell phone. The video of the trailer is recorded off of a computer screen. The resolution of the image is very low and it is being shared on social media.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home”  Trailer

The day after the leak, the official Teaser Trailer was released. The trailer stars  Marvel Cinematic Universe alums Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Zendaya (Michelle “MJ Jones), and Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange). It also reveals the return of Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus “Doc Ock”. Molina is reprising his role from 2004’s Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. This confirmed that we will be seeing a multiverse with characters from the other Spider-Man franchises.

Although no official details have been revealed, it is speculated that we will see the return of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. There are also rumors that we may see a Miles Morales version of Spider-Man in this film. This wouldn’t be surprising given the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

Not even Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, was spared the rod in these jokes. Here’s a list of some of our favorites in no particular order.

TikTok user Dimitri Beauchamp @dimitribeauchamp speculates that the WandaVision television series gave a nod to the release date of the trailer on August 23rd.

There has been plenty of obsession over Doctor Strange’s mug.

This The Office and Spider-Man: No Way home mashup describes fan reactions to seeing Dr. Strange in a Columbia University hoodie and drinking from a mug that says “Oh for Fox Sake”.

And apparently, it wasn’t just Loki and Wanda messing with timelines.

And although this last one is not a meme, we like the fact that Marvel gives a shout-out to the fans who waited for the official trailer and didn’t watch the grainy leaked one.
