Venue
Anime Expo took place once again at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Beyond that, there were related events and attractions at the neighboring LA Live area. There was absolutely no shortage of fun to be had at Anime Expo 2019 and everyone in attendance came to party! From the multitude of vendors to the absolutely amazing talent of independent artists, it seemed like everywhere you turned there was something awesome to see. It really seemed that at Anime Expo 2019, if you could imagine it, you would see it there.
However, Anime Expo has earned a reputation of being called Line Con. This is due to the overwhelming amount of people who show up to the event which takes place in the entirety of the Los Angeles Convention Center. More than 100,000 people show up for this event, so it is expected that there will be a wait time to enter the center. on goers are expected to prepare for this in advance as this convention gets bigger and bigger.
Attractions
Also, what would a convention be without cosplay? Walking around Anime Expo 2019 was a visual treat because the eyes are met with some of the most amazing anime-inspired cosplay that you could ask for. The cosplay masquerade on Saturday was an incredible event and if you ever have the chance to check one out, you definitely should.
Artist Alley
Artist Alley, a convention staple, at Anime Expo 2019 was a beast!!! Taking over the entire Kentia Hall section of the convention center, Artist Alley could’ve been its own convention at Anime Expo. The sheer size of the crowd and the awesome independent artists working there was awesome. We’ve stated many times that whenever you’re at a convention, you owe it to yourself to check out the artwork on display in Artist Alley. However, at Anime Expo, with the size of the crowd in attendance, bring your patience, you are gonna need it.
Anime Expo is a comic convention that has an insane following. The dedication to the fans who show up to celebrate their fandoms is heartwarming and the community is truly supportive. With the thought-provoking panels, live performances and late night and off-site events Anime Expo 2019 could make you feel at home. It’s definitely a convention you should try at least once if you truly love anime.
