San Diego Comic Con is almost here. There are so many comic book publishers attending to announce and promote new releases. From the major publishers like Marvel and DC to the mid-size Image Comics and the small presses like Oni, comic book fans are sure to get their fill of new comics this week. Now that the schedule for the entire week is out, let’s take a look at the comic book announcements for SDCC 2024. 

Comic Book Announcements at SDCC 2024

Thursday

Starting off the week strong, Oni Press will talk about their announcements for the rest of this year and beyond. 

DC’s Absolute Power Panel takes place at 12:45. We will hear about new things to come for this summer. They are promising a “Blockbuster event,” but for comics. 

At 4:00PM, Apex Comics will be announcing and presenting new comic book and action figure projects to be released this year and into 2025. 

Friday

Dynamite Entertainment is celebrating their 20th anniversary. They are doing so by bringing some of their best creators to SDCC to announce and discuss new projects.

Image Comics is the host of the Massive-verse, and there will be new additions for the rest of this year and into next year that will be announced this week. 

We are not just talking about comic book announcements on this one, but also a new publishing house. Scott Dunbier announces the launch of Act 4 Publishing and what his first slate of releases is going to be. 

“Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing” will be presenting the future of Marvel comics and discussing the aftermath of Blood Hunt.

Saturday

BOOM! Studios will be having their 25th anniversary in 2025, and therefore, they are gearing up for some big announcements. Some of these will be presented at SDCC. 

Ultima Comics launches their inaugural titles as well as discuss what the future holds for the independent publisher. 

Both big and small presses will have much to offer for comic book fans of all kinds. The comic book announcements at SDCC for 2024 promise to be interesting and plentiful.
