Cosplay Connection: Los Angeles Comic Con Part 1

Season 3 Episode 1: Los Angeles Comic Con Part 1

We are back with a brand new season of Temple Of Geek’s Cosplay Connection!

Temple of Geek Correspondent, Emily Schuck, hits the convention center floor to talk with cosplayers at Los Angeles Comic Con 2018. Check out the video above to see our interviews with Cosplayers VeganSpidey, NotAHepburn, MazzFace, and Francheezy24_7. Emily discusses with them how to get started in cosplay, body positivity in cosplay and gender bending cosplay!

It’s Cos- PLAY! That’s the biggest key. Always stress the Play part. You are here to have fun! – Cristobal Hernandez, @veganspidey

Cosplay is fun! I feel like you should just go for it. Just shake off the nerves! – Francesca Taylor, @francheezy24_7

First of all, YouTube is your friend. When I’m working on a project, even if it’s not videos that I need to watch, I have a playlist of just “watch later” YouTube tutorial that I just listen to on my computer while I’m working. Because you pick up things… and later on you go “Oh wait, So and So from ‘XYZ Video’ did this thing and that might work” – Aubrey Vigil @notahepburn

I definitely feel like cosplay is the right place for people exploring their gender. Because they can do it in a way that makes them feel empowered.  Because they are cosplaying as a character they identify with regardless of the gender. And so I notice a lot within the cosplay community that people who are exploring their gender identity tend to do that

through cosplay, because it’s a safer place. – Mazz, @mazzface
