Interview with Courtenay Taylor at New York Comic Con
Entertainment Correspondent Alba K. Guerrero and other journalists at New York Comic Con speak with Courtenay Taylor about her role as Kira in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind.
When asked about how she prepared for her role as Kira, Taylor tells us ” I boxed when I was younger. And so I love physical roles. And so it wasn’t necessarily preparing for this role, but I feel like I have experience hitting people and being hit so, so that always comes in handy with this kind of work.”
She goes on to tell us, ” I looked for what was online and there was not a lot. So it was kind of a combination of…And it’s one sentence. She fought her way out of Afghanistan dressed as a man and you’re like, Okay, well then I know she’s a complete badass. But that she’s super physical, she’s fearless, you know? And so filtering that through. Also on the audition side, it said that she had a real streak of mischief. And so I loved that idea that she isn’t just completely one-dimensional like I’m a badass. It’s that she also is like this genius.”
