Crunchyroll Announcements at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) takes place each year at the San Diego Convention Center, celebrating all aspects of pop-culture. The Crunchyroll Industry Panel at SDCC was held on Thursday, July 20.

SDCC Crunchyroll Announcements

During the industry panel at SDCC, Crunchyroll announced a couple of new series as well as One Piece films heading to the streaming service between now and January 2024.

In celebration of One Piece Day on July 22, Crunchyroll announced it will be bringing three hit One Piece films to its streaming service on July 27. These include One Piece Film: Gold (2016), One Piece: Stampede (2019), and last year’s theatrical blockbuster, One Piece Film: Red (2022). One Piece Film: Red became the highest grossing film of the franchise and sixth highest grossing anime film globally to date. All three will be available to stream in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

This collection of feature films follows the highly anticipated arrival of the English dub of the One Piece series on Crunchyroll. This launched with the first 976 episodes on July 5. During today’s panel, another batch of English dub episodes was announced to debut on July 25, which will consist of episodes 977 – 988 (Season 14 Voyage 8). The English dub of One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll only in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Also, two new anime title acquisitions were announced by Crunchyroll. These titles include SHY and Fluffy Paradise.

SHY will begin streaming in October of 2023.

Fluffy Paradise will begin streaming in January of 2024.
