Crunchyroll Concert Series Featuring LiSA Heads to San Diego Comic-Con

Crunchyroll is announcing a once-in-a-lifetime anime and music experience from July 25th through 28th at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). On Friday, July 26, the Crunchyroll Concert Series will take over The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park with global J-pop sensation LiSA. The concert is free to all San Diego Comic-Con badge holders.

LiSA, global J-pop sensation and iconic voice behind countless hit anime themes, will perform in the U.S. for the first time in nearly 10 years. This performance comes ahead of the North American theatrical debut of LiSA’s concert film LiVE is SMiLE ALWAYS -LANDER- on August 17. LiSA returns to the U.S. as Spotify’s 2020 Most Played Japanese Artist Overseas. Also, she currently has 4.1 million monthly listeners on the platform.

Furthermore, LiSA is well-known worldwide for her string of hit anime theme songs for popular titles. These include “Gurenge” from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, “Crossing Field” from Sword Art Online, and “homura” from Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train.

Experimental musician and performance artist Alice Longyu Gao will open the evening. Their pulls inspiration from their deep connection to NANA. NANA is a classic anime about romance and music. Alice Longyu Gao is a multilingual, experimental artist and musician. They are credited with pioneering “hyperpop.” They have a cult following and viral moments with features in Billboard, Fader, Rolling Stone, and nods from Lady Gaga. Their track “Rich Bitch Juice” was featured in Gaga’s “Women of Choice” Apple Music playlist. Collaborations with Dylan Brady and Laura Les of 100 Gecs, Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon, Mura Masa, among others, have marked ALG’s rise. Also, Alice is recognized in the DJ space. They perform at venues like the Parrish Art Museum, MOMA, and soundtrack fashion events for Acne Studios and Juicy Couture.

Space for the concert series at SDCC is subject to capacity. It is based on a first come, first served basis. Fans can find updates on the Crunchyroll News website.
