It’s easy to rep classic DC Comics villains The Joker and The Riddler with suits from Fun.com. Whether you’re looking for your next cosplay or the perfect Halloween costume, these fun, detailed pieces are a dapper DC fan’s dream. If you’re more into Doctor Who than DC, Fun.com will also assist you in traveling stylishly through time and space with an instantly recognizable blue suit jacket you can slip on for a convention or Whovian meet-up.
The suits are all licensed Fun.com exclusives and though they’re marketed as men’s wear, they can be worn comfortably by people of any gender. The Fun Suits line features dressy pieces inspired by DC, Doctor Who, Marvel, Harry Potter, popular horror properties, and other fandoms.
Fun.com is a licensed purveyor of pop culture-themed products. They are best known for their Halloween costumes, festive Christmas sweaters, and items that “tread the line between colorful and classic, tacky and wacky,” according to their website.
Temple of Geek Chic recently recruited models Kelsey (@futuristik.cosplay) and Don (@donwell_) for the ultimate DC supervillain team-up at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Don also took Fun.com’s TARDIS-themed jacket for a spin. Here’s our review.
The Joker Slim Fit Suit Jacket and The Joker Slim Fit Suit Pants
Note: The Joker Slim Fit Suit Jacket is sold out in almost all sizes. You can request email updates about availability here.
Batman’s biggest nemesis is known for being more than a little extra, but this sartorial homage to one of DC’s most infamous villains takes a more subtle, playful approach.
On the outside, this Joker “Secret Identity” ensemble is a sophisticated black suit you could wear just about anywhere. But it’s the exquisitely geeky hidden details that are sure to please the diehard DC fan.
The sleeve features a small, embroidered reminder of the Joker’s maniacal catchphrase, “Ha Ha Ha.” Custom debossed buttons on the front and cuffs feature a similar reference. Exterior pocket flaps flip up to reveal a satiny purple lining underneath.
Our favorite feature of the jacket, however, is a slightly unsettling one. The satin interior lining reveals a truly terrifying image of The Joker from Alan Moore’s graphic novel The Killing Joke. With bloodshot eyes and a bloody sneer, this hidden Joker face is the perfect party trick for diehard fans. The lining also sports the official Batman label and lurid pink “Ha Ha Ha’s” along the bottom edges.
The jacket is a slim fit that tapers at the waist, which could make for a snug fit. It does give the outfit a tailored look, as evidenced by how villainously stylish Don looks in the above pics.
If you’d like to add more geekiness or a pop of color to your outfit, the jacket comes with a matching tie and pocket square. Both the skinny tie and square are a satiny black, covered in purple, comic book-style “Ha ha ha’s.”
The pants are sold separately. Mostly, they’re a standard black dress pant, but they feature a purple ribbon of “Ha Ha Ha’s” around the interior waist and the same debossed buttons as the jacket.
What we love about it
Fun.com’s tribute to an iconic baddie is super geeky, yet versatile. Wear it to the office and out for drinks after. Nobody has to know about that crazy Joker mug lurking inside, unless you want them to. Or throw on a green wig and smear on some red lipstick and you’ve got an easy Halloween costume or cosplay.
According to Don, the suit fit well and wasn’t too restrictive, despite the slim fit.
“I like the details,” he said. “They’re nice and subtle and then it’s like, ‘BAM!’ (when you open up the jacket).”
For reference, Don modeled a size 40 jacket and size 34 pants.
The Riddler Slim Fit Suit Jacket and The Riddler Slim Fit Suit Pants
Riddle me this … what’s emerald green, highly questionable, and ideal for making trouble in Gotham city?
Answer: Fun.com’s Riddler Slim Fit Suit.
Our model, Kelsey, had way too much fun sporting this eye-popping DC villain-themed outfit. The bright green background is covered neck to ankle in audacious black question marks. Inside the jacket is a silky, deeper green lining with the official Batman label sewed in. It tapers at the waist for a tailored look, further accentuated by shoulder pads.
Once again, this suit is a slim fit, so prepare for snugness. The jacket comes with a matching green skinny tie with a question mark at the bottom.
The pants are sold separately. They’re lightly lined and boast the same pattern as the jacket, so they really complete the outfit. But you could always pair the jacket with jeans or black pants if you want to tone it down a little.
What we love about it
This question mark-covered, comic-book green suit makes a bold, playful, villainy statement. You’d have to be pretty shameless to show up to work in it but, hey, if you’re feeling wild, go for it. The suit would make a memorable Halloween costume or easy cosplay. Just add a bowler and cane and arm yourself with some good riddles.
Kelsey said she was excited about the suit because she can now cosplay her first DC villain, although she’ll need to have the pants tailored for a perfect fit.
“It feels great. I love it,” she said. “It’s comfy, it breathes well. It’s not too heavy. The pants aren’t too restrictive.”
Kelsey modeled a size 34 jacket with size 34 pants. The pants have an extendable inseam.
Doctor Who TARDIS Formal Slim Fit Suit Jacket
Note: Almost all sizes of the Doctor Who TARDIS Formal Slim Fit Jacket are sold out. You can request email updates about availability here.
Whovians looking for a convenient Halloween costume or something simple to wear now that conventions are back on, you’re in luck! Slip on this TARDIS blue jacket and instantly embody one of sci-fi’s most iconic vehicles for traveling through time and space. The smooth, shiny fabric does give this piece a formal look, although it feels more like a costume jacket than something you’d wear to work or a fancy event.
Screen-printed on the front of the jacket are all the classic details of the beloved British police box. Custom debossed buttons feature tiny TARDIS designs. The jacket is bigger on the inside — the satin fabric lining is printed with a detailed image of the TARDIS’ famous control room.
This ultimate Time Lord fashion statement is a slim fit, so it may be a little snug in the chest. It comes with a bow tie and pocket square, according to Fun.com.
Don modeled a size 40 jacket and paired it with his own pants. Fun.com’s matching blue TARDIS suit pants have been discontinued, according to the website, but you could pair this jacket with jeans or black dress pants.
What we love about it
Everyone at our photo shoot was oohing and aahing over the bright, bold blue of the TARDIS jacket. But the biggest hit was the surprise lining featuring the control room. It’s such a delightful nerdy bonus!
Overall:
We stan Fun.com’s fandom suits because of their quality, versatility, and geeky details. The DC-themed suits and TARDIS jacket are especially memorable pieces. We and the models had an amazing time styling and wearing them at our shoot in downtown L.A.
With their clever features and attention to detail, the Joker and Riddler suits are a must for DC Comic fans who like to dress up. The subtle design of the Joker suit makes it a little more flexible, while the Riddler set just screams to be flaunted at comic-con.
The TARDIS jacket’s simple, but classic design makes it an ideal option for casual or more elaborate cosplays. It could be fun to pair it with props and accessories belonging to your favorite doctor.
Fun.com offers other licensed DC suits, including Batman, Superman, Justice League, Harvey Dent, and a couple other Joker designs. Other Doctor Who-themed suits include 12th and 11th doctor designs and subtle Dalek and TARDIS pieces with hidden graphic linings.
If you’re on the hunt for this year’s Halloween costume, any of these pieces would be a great option.
Suits and more
While the slim fit adds to the stylishness of the jackets, it could be an issue when it comes to sizing. We appreciate that Fun.com offers them in a wide range of sizes.
The suits are 100% polyester or polyester/rayon. The jackets feature three pockets on the outside and two handy pockets inside. The pants have two front pockets and two buttoned rear pockets. They fasten with a zip fly and hook-and-bar closure.
If you’re not in the market for a suit, Fun.com is still a great go-to for Halloween, especially for costumes, seasonal face masks, leggings, and “ugly” sweaters. To check out all their offerings, visit the website.
