Premise of “Elio”

Elio is an 11-year-old boy with no friends, a space-obsession, and a dream of being abducted by aliens. The trailer showcases Elio as an outcast, struggling to find where he belongs. One day, he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, where beings from other galaxies gather together. Mistaken as Earth’s leader, Elio must form connections with aliens while simultaneously discovering who he really is.

As Elio spends more time in the Communiverse, he realizes his alien friends need his help. He’ll do whatever he can to help them. Along the way, Elio meets Glordon, an alien who becomes his first friend and likes him for him.

Elio’s trailers have evolved over the years, with its first trailer focusing more-so on Elio being Earth’s leader. It appeared more serious, with no sign of Glordon yet. As Pixar released more trailers, the film is evolving to be more of a heroic story, with friends made along the way and a self-discovery journey. The newest trailer features more funny and wholesome moments between Elio and his mother, as well as with Glordon.
