Disney does it again! The beloved Jungle Cruise ride is coming to us next summer in the form of an exciting film.
Blunt’s character and brother are seeking out a tree in the Amazon that possesses healing powers. Her character seems pretty fearless in the beginning of this trailer. She steals an arrowhead and fights her way out, ultimately falling (with style!) out of a window.
Johnson’s character is the tour guide for the river cruises down the Amazon, and he calls them the “cheapest and most thrilling cruises through the Amazon.” Then, see the classic hippo with its mouth wide open, ears wiggling as well as the marauders shooting arrows at the passengers. Not only that, but it looks like we even get some of the corny jokes the tour guides recite that we all love so much!
Ladies and gentlemen. The moment you’ve all been waiting for…the backside of water! It’s the eighth wonder of the world.
I hope they end up chanting, “02H!” and then explain how explosive that is…
All in all, Disney’s attention to detail when bringing a ride to life never ceases to amaze me. This film is set in the 1920’s, and it looks like it will bring a wonderful mix of action, adventure, and comedy as we see Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson brave the Amazon in search of ancient treasures. Jungle Cruise will be released July 24, 2020.
