About our Guest

Tanner Risner

Tanner Risner is a film, TV, commercial, and theatre actor who previously worked as an Assistant Director and recurring guest for SMOSH and SMOSH GAMES, a
sketch comedy and gaming YouTube brand with over 43M subscribers combined. He also starred in ROADKILL ZOO, a short film that played at SXSW, and in TATTERED CAPES, a play that won the award for Best Dance and Physical Theatre at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Most recently, he’s worked on feature films SHEPARD and WANNABEE 2.

Tanner is a graduate of The Sanford Meisner Center and holds a BA in Theater from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Raised in Shakespeare, my first professional theater performance was TITUS ANDRONICUS at age 9.

He has a deep love for fantasy and
fiction and regularly hosts and participates in Dungeons and Dragons sessions. And he used that as an outlet to keep his character development skills sharp. Incredibly he has even converted his Sprinter van into a living space. Before the onset of COVID-19, he lived the van life for almost 2 years, traveling the streets of Los Angeles and beyond for good opportunities.

His newest project is a podcast called Quantum Recast. it’s a theoretical film podcast where 3 co-hosts act as time travelers and pull a movie from its original release year, then “Re-release” it in a new year and recast it with actors that are available and working in that year. For example, they take Die Hard from 1998 and imagine releasing it with a new cast in 2017.

You can find Tanner Risner on social media as @tannerrisner on Twitter and as @thetannerrisner on Instagram.
