Animatronics escaped from Freddy Fasbear’s Mega Pizza Plex this past Saturday and met up in front of the Anaheim Convention Center for a Five Nights at Freddy’s Cosplay Meetup at Wondercon this past Saturday. “Security Breach” was released in mid-December 2021 with new Glam Rock redesigns and is an open-world game. All our favorites were there: Freddy Fazbear, Chika, Roxanne Wolf, the Daycare Attendant, Montgomery Gator, Bonnie, Vanessa, and Gregory. While the fan reception for the game has been mixed, I think we can all agree that these cosplayers did an amazing job recreating the characters.

Cosplay at Conventions
Cosplay, or “costume play,” is a fun way for convention-goers to express themselves, be creative, and make new friends. WonderCon is a fan favorite convention among cosplayers for its open outdoor photo locations. While it’s becoming more popular in recent years, Cosplay is in no way a requirement for attending the convention. It is optional for all attendees.
You can usually find several fan-organized cosplay meetups throughout the weekend as well as a Masquerade or Cosplay competition hosted by the Convention. A Masquerade is basically a talent show before a large audience, showcasing amazing costumes crafted by non-professional attendees. Often, people will plan skits to go along with their cosplay presentation.
Wondercon returns after Covid hiatus
Since 2012, WonderCon Anaheim—now called Comic-Con International Presents WonderCon Anaheim—has been held in Southern California at the Anaheim Convention Center. WonderCon is the sister show to Comic-Con, embracing all of the main aspects of SDCC, including comics, movies, TV, animation, cosplay, and more.
It has been 3 years since WonderCon (2019) hosted an in-person event! This weekend, WonderCon returned to the Anaheim Convention Center for a celebration of pop culture and the arts.
