Fortnite Brings D&D Inspired Maps to the Battle Royale

Fortnite is a global phenomenon, a free-to-play multiplayer game where players scavenge for weapons, build strategic defenses, and battle to be the last one standing. Known for its massive crossovers, Fortnite has previously collaborated with icons like LEGO, Marvel, and Stranger Things, and has even hosted live virtual concerts featuring artists like Marshmello.

Now, in a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Fortnite is partnering with top island creators Chartis and Teravision Games to launch a special series of fan-made islands. Inspired by DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, these islands are part of a new “Launch and Learn” initiative. This project aims to bridge the worlds of D&D and Fortnite’s diverse community through engaging, interactive gameplay that encourages players to explore the connections between these two legendary franchises.

Five new DUNGEONS & DRAGONS themed islands include a PvP arena, a social hub, a platformer, a co-op boss fight, and the largest co-op roguelike in Fortnite history. Players will visit beloved D&D locations in the Forgotten Realms, including the Yawning Portal tavern, the Spine of the World mountains, and Mount Hotenow. Engage in epic battles against some of the legends of D&D, including Klauth, the ancient red dragon, and the feared necromancer Valindra Shadowmantle.

“We’re bringing the spirit of D&D homebrew to Fortnite – supporting creators, experimenting in new mediums, and learning how we can introduce D&D to new players. D&D already means so much to all those who have joined us at the table, and we hope that we can make it just as meaningful for millions of Fortnite fans. We very much look forward to hearing player feedback on these creator-made islands and using that feedback to shape future adventures wherever people love D&D.”
– Nick Strann, Franchise Strategy Director for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS at Wizards of the Coast.
