Hasbro Brings Us Back To Summer Of ’78 With Star Wars Retro Collection

Hasbro is really hitting the retro market hard! Last year, it was the Wal-Mart exclusive Vintage Transformers (Please keep them coming!!). This year, at the New York Toy Fair, they unveiled the Star Wars Retro Collection.

This line will be a reproduction of the action figures released by Kenner. This new line will be exclusive to Target stores. The first wave is expected to hit shelves in May and will consist of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca. They will retail for $9.99 each and preorders appear to be sold out on Target’s website at the time of this writing.

I’m sure they will be able to be found at your local Target come this May when they are released. In the meantime, take a look at the galleries below.

Also revealed on Saturday, was a new board game called Escape From Death Star Game. It will include an exclusive Retro Collection styled Grand Moff Tarkin action figure. The game appears to be a reproduction of the original board game, of the same name, that was released in 1977.

What are your thoughts on these figures? Do these give you the retro itch and make you want to collect? Do you fear you wont be able to find them? Let us know your thoughts on these new figures in the comments below.
