This weekend, New York Comic Con (NYCC) took over the Javitz Center in Midtown Manhattan for four days of fun. We had the opportunity to talk to Loungefly’s Director of Marketing and Social Media, Ilana McBride, at their Halloween themed booth on the show floor on Friday, October 7th.
Held from October 6-9, New York Comic Con is one of the largest pop culture conventions on the east coast and boasts big-name exhibitors, such as Crunchyroll. Among the impressive lineup was Loungefly.
Founded in 1998, Loungefly is perhaps most well-known for its pop culture-themed mini backpacks. Marvel, DC, Pixar, and Star Wars are among the collaborating licenses. Wallets, clothing, enamel pins, and keychains are among the wide variety of products Loungefly now offers.
Ilana McBride, Loungefly’s Director of Marketing and Social Media, took some time to talk with us about current releases and convention exclusives.
Ilana discussed convention exclusives:
We really tried to focus on tertiary characters. You won’t see main characters exclusives here. There’s no Mickey Mouse. It’s all [characters] like Asajj Ventress and Boba Fett from Droids. It’s all very niche and tertiary characters because that’s what these fans know and love.
Be sure to check out Loungefly on social media to see everything they have to offer.
