Sunita Desphande sat down with Josh LaCount to talk about her journey from working in advertising as a copywriter and interned at UCB Comedy when Donald Glover encouraged her to appear on 30 Rock opposite Tina Fey. They also discussed her film “A Sari for Pallavi” which won the Oscars-Qualifying Flickers Festival for best comedy short & placed at the Samuel French OOB Festival.

Daredevil
Fans of the Marvel television series Daredevil may recognize Deshpande from her story arc in Season 3 where she plays Seema Nadeem. Daredevil has recently found new life among Marvel fans after its recent re-release on Disney+. There has also been a kind of resurgence of Daredevil chatter after audiences were re-introduced to the character of Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox) after his surprise cameo in the box office hit Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Deshpande talks in-depth about the joys and challenges she faced while working on Daredevil and gives us insight into the most intense moments for her character.
Moonshot
Sunita Deshpande will star opposite Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor in HBO Max’s MOONSHOT, premiering on March 31st. Moonshot is science fiction that meets romantic comedy. It is set in a future where Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer.
The story follows Walt and Sophie, two very different college students, who wind up joining forces and sneak onboard a space shuttle to the red planet in order to be united with their significant others. What they don’t realize is that they are embarking upon a journey that winds up taking them both wildly and unexpectedly off course. The film stars Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor, Mason Gooding, Emily Rudd, and Zach Braff. The film is directed by Christopher Winterbauer.
HBO Max’s MOONSHOT premiers on March 31st.
