Anime Expo brought incredible voice acting talent to this year’s event. Among those voice actors was Howard Wang. Howard is known for dubbing the English voices for characters such as Langa Hasegawa from Sk8 the Infinity, Xie Lian from Heaven Official’s Blessing, Tsutomu Goshiki from Haikyu!, and Mojito from Dragon Ball Super. 

Interview with Howard Wang

We asked Howard, of the characters he voices, and who he feels he relates to the most. He said:

“I kinda relate to all of them in a little way, one way or another. Langa, from Sk8 the Infinity, I think I have a lot in common with. We’re both snowboarders. I’m not from Canada, but I spent a lot of time in Canada. I have a lot of Canadian friends. I actually dedicated my performance as Langa to my Canadian friends.”

He goes on to say:

“And then there’s Xie Lian from Heaven Official’s Blessing that I really relate to because he’s just tired and trying his best a lot.

Then, we asked what Howard wants audiences to take away from these characters that he connects with. He said:

“I think they are…I think they demonstrate that just as long as you just are honest and try your best with any given situation, it usually works out. And just be kind, I think.”
