About “Iyanu”

Iyanu first premiered in April 2025 and ran for 10 episodes. Adapted from “Iyanu: Child of Wonder,” a graphic novel series by Nigerian creator/producer Roye Okupe, Iyanu features an all-Nigerian cast.
Iyanu is set in Yorubaland, a world inspired by the Yoruba people in Nigeria, Africa. The series follows an orphan girl named Iyanu who has no memory of her past. One day, she discovers she has the abilities that rival “the Divine Ones.” With her friends Biyi and Toye, the trio embarks on a journey to discover the truth about her homeland. As evil makes itself known, she must unlock her memories and hone her powers to save Yorubaland.
