During the Game Awards 2025, IO Interactive revealed that legendary musician and actor Lenny Kravitz is portraying the main antagonist in the upcoming game 007: First Light. He plays Bawma, the “Pirate King” who the fledgling James Bond will go up against in next year’s highly-anticipated new game. Check out the reveal trailer below.
Bawma is the leader of the black market network Aleph, one of the Western Hemisphere’s most vast and deadly cadre of criminals. In the trailer, James Bond (Patrick Gibson) and his MI6 mentor John Greenway (Lennie James) find themselves held captive by Bawma, and in classic Bond fashion must find their way out with alive.
We got to attend a special preview event before the main awards show, where Lenny Kravitz took the stage and described his excitement to not only work on his first game project, but to be a part of the iconic and long-standing Bond legacy: “The Bond franchise has such an incredible legacy in video games, so to step into it with a brand-new character like Bawma is amazing”. Kravitz joins the cast alongside Patrick Gibson, Lennie James, Gemma Chan, Priyanga Burford, Kiera Lester, and Alastair Mackenzie.
007: First Light launches March 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Preorders are available now for both the standard and Collector’s Editions.
