In light of the events happening across the world and in response to the death of George Floyd due to police brutality, Sophie Flicker and Alyssa Klein complied a list intended to serve as a resource to White People and parents to deepen their anti-racism work. They note that it is important that the world actively do the work to learn about the suffering of Black People and People of Color.
Black communities have tried for generations to educate us, plead with us, and show us the realities of racism. They have gone unheard for far too long. We must keep in mind that this is not the time to look to the Black community or to our Black friends for reminders and education. It is important that we educate ourselves. We have a moral obligation to learn and to listen.
Below is information provided by Sophie Flicker and Alyssa Klein, a link to where to the original document, as well as more information from former President Barack Obama with advice on getting active, and information from us on where to donate.

it’s important for us to understand which levels of government have the biggest impact on our criminal justice system and police practices. When we think about politics, a lot of us focus only on the presidency and the federal government. And yes, we should be fighting to make sure that we have a president, a Congress, a U.S. Justice Department, and a federal judiciary that actually recognize the ongoing, corrosive role that racism plays in our society and want to do something about it. But the elected officials who matter most in reforming police departments and the criminal justice system work at the state and local levels.
