Season Three of Doctor Who

The third series of Doctor Who, starring David Tennant as the Doctor, aired in 2007. It included the Christmas special “The Runaway Bride” and 13 regular episodes. The series introduced Freema Agyeman as the Doctor’s new companion Martha Jones, who left at the end of the series.

The series had a recurring storyline about the return of the Doctor’s enemy, the Time Lord known as the Master. The Master was first played by Derek Jacobi, but in this series, he regenerated into John Simm. The Master’s return was hinted at by the recurring phrase “Vote Saxon”, which was eventually revealed to be the Master’s alias.
