Lorwyn Eclipsed has become a popular set among Magic: The Gathering fans eager to revisit the Lorwyn plane. Featuring strategic mechanics such as Blight, Vivid, and Kindreds, along with captivating artwork that occasionally showcases Double-Faced cards, this set beautifully blends the powerful and whimsical elements. Lorwyn Eclipsed focuses on five 2-color creature types. Additionally, the set centers around creature types like Kithkin, Elves, Merfolk/Merrow, Goblins/Boggarts, and Elementals. The occasional Faerie, Giant, and Treefolk will also be spotted.
The art style is vibrant, whimsical, cozy, and detailed. Lorwyn Eclipsed features a total of 20 “papercut” Special Guests cards: 10 from Lorwyn and 10 from Shadowmoor.

Blooming Mechanics and Lore
Mechanics of the set include:
Blight: Cast this spell, Blight. Playing may put a -1/-1 counter on a creature they control. However, High Perfect Morcant forces your opponent to blight their own creature.
Vivid: Encourages players to use a variety of colors on their playmat. The more colors among permanents you control, the more damage a card can do to a target creature.
Kindreds: A noncreature card (instants, artifacts, etc.) that identifies with creature subtypes. These cards benefit from “typal” (formerly known as tribal) synergies.
Double-Faced Cards: The Lorwyn Eclipsed set features 6 double-faced cards that flip into a different color on the other side.

Returning mechanics include Evoke, Convoke, and Changeling.

Those interested in the Land of Light and Shadow can enjoy the lore on a deeper scale. Side stories for Lorwyn detailing the transformation from daylight to eventide, and Shadowmoor-touched creatures, have also been released on The Magic Story Podcast, Magic, and on YouTube.
“Two elves strike up an unlikely correspondence and discover that love can be petrifying.”
