Loungefly and Dreamworks collaborate on designs inspired by “Shrek”

It has been 21 years since the release of the first Shrek by DreamWorks Animation. Recently, Loungefly, the accessory and lifestyle brand, has partnered with DreamWorks for a Shrek collection. The Signature accessories include a mini backpack as well as a wallet inspired by Shrek and Donkey. This collection is now available Loungefly.com.

Loosely based on William Steig’s 1990 picture book of the same name.  The Shrek Franchise includes four films: Shrek (2001), Shrek 2 (2004), Shrek the Third (2007), and Shrek Forever After (2010) with the fifth film supposedly slated for the fall of 2022. Loungefly is consistent in the way they know what fans want and what details we care about when it comes to fashion. These designs work because they know how to dial into our nostalgia and love for these characters.

Loungefly Shrek and Donkey Cosplay Mini Backpack

In this mini backpack, Donkey peers over the edge of the front pocket. His ears can move up and down, too. Shrek looks over Donkey, one eyebrow raised. The sides of the bag are printed to mimic the texture of Shrek’s vest, and the straps are the same color as his tunic. The Shrek and Donkey Cosplay Mini Backpack is made of vegan leather (polyurethane). The bag has adjustable shoulder straps, sturdy metal hardware, and features applique, embroidered, faux suede, debossed, and printed details. Take note of the coordinating pattern of the inside lining fabric.

What I especially love is the quote on the back of the backpack that quotes a line from the first Shrek film, “That’ll do Donkey, that’ll do.”

Loungefly Shrek Cosplay Zip Around Wallet

This wallet features Shrek peering over the edge of the wallet, one eyebrow raised. The back is printed to mimic the texture of Shrek’s vest. This wallet has 4 slots for holding cards, as well as a clear window slot for holding your ID. It is made of vegan leather (polyurethane). The wallet zips closed, has sturdy metal hardware, and features: applique, debossed, printed details, and matching inside lining fabric.
