When a Poison Master and marriage swindler meet, it’s a recipe for MARRIAGETOXIN. Currently serialized in Shonen Jump+, MARRIAGETOXIN is set to receive an anime series in 2026.
Bandai Namco released a colorful new YouTube trailer introducing the main characters. Check it out:
An equally-colorful visual accompanies the trailer. Main character and hopeful groom-to-be Hikaru Gero (left) is shown posing with poison needles, his signature weapon. His marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki (right) holds a ring box. The side characters appear in the background, including other deadly assassins and potential love interests for Gero.
Characters, Cast and Comments
- Kyoko Himekawa – Voiced by Anna Nagase
- A friendly, easy-to-talk to thief who works to recover art and return it to its rightful owner. She doesn’t speak much about herself, but has a passion for sharks.
- Shizuku Ushio – Voiced by Mariya Ise
- A Water Master who can be frequently found wearing a wetsuit.
- Shiori Ureshino – Voiced by Asaki Yuikawa
- A college student and heir to Balzak, a trillion dollar party supply company. She loves making people smile and perform magic tricks.
- Genya Naruko – Voiced by Soma Saito
- Descendent of the Sound Master, he is extremely handsome and popular with women.
- Kimie Arashiyama – Voiced by Hinano Shirahama
- A Hamster Master, she is a descendent of the beast master. She was saved by Gero during childhood and secretly admires him. She is searching for her long-lost brother.
- Piichi Nakagawa – Voiced by Simba Tsuchiya
- An ordinary human with extraordinary skills, even beyond a Master. He sleeps over 10 hours a day, but doing so allows his body to heal any injury or sickness. Not only does he have superhuman strength, but he has exceptional cognitive abilities. When it comes to being an assassin, he is top of the line.
MARRIAGETOXIN Synopsis
For centuries, “Masters” have perfected the deadly arts. MARRIAGETOXIN follows Hikaru Gero who comes from a family of Poison Masters, the most fearsome and powerful of the Five Great Families. Since he has lived his whole life in the underworld, he has no experience with love.
One day, the Geto head announces that Hikaru’s sister must bear an heir to continue the Geto bloodline, even if she doesn’t want to. In order to protect his sister, Hikaru decides that he will get married to continue the bloodline.
With help from marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki, Hikaru sets out for his toughest mission yet: Finding a bride!
