Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and more Announced in Nintendo Direct

As the Nintendo Switch seemingly nears the end of its lifecycle, the big N has been hush-hush about what we can expect for the remainder of 2024. With a slow year of mostly remakes, fans have been eagerly awaiting what’s in store for what is sure to be the Switch’s swan song lineup. Rumors have been swirling all year for what we can expect, from Metroid Prime 4 to the next hardware. Temper expectations though, as Nintendo has confirmed this presentation will feature no information on the Switch’s successor. Could this be the final Nintendo Direct of the Switch’s lifecycle? Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gameplay trailer, coming 2025.

In less than an hour, Nintendo turned 2024 into one of their most exciting years. Filled with a variety of new games from their familiar IPs, the back half of the year has a lot to look forward to. Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood is an interesting, as developer Alpha Dream has been shuttered for awhile. It’s also interesting to see not one, but two! PlayStation IP on the Switch. LEGO Horizon Adventures and Stray coming to a Nintendo platform bears good omen for the future of both platforms. And of course, getting a first look at Metroid Prime 4, now titled Beyond, after over five years is a good sign for the game’s development. What are you excited to play from this Direct?
