As Halloween is fast approaching, you have some films to watch. It’s time you cuddle up on the couch, make some hot chocolate, or perhaps an adult beverage, and gather these 9 movies to binge. These films, in absolutely no particular order, are the must see movies leading up to Halloween. Even if you do not get to watch these awesome movies this week, you really do need to watch them at least once in your lifetime.
The Evil Dead. Although I prefer the original I think you should also watch the remake. Make sure not to skip the original movie it kick off to the show and the sequels of the movie. Demonic book is all you need to know. If you like camping or being in the woods you may rethink that now. Its a bit gory so be warned.
The Poltergeist 1982 version: Also deals with religion and demonic events. There is also the curse of the movie. People who have worked in these films have had bad luck and even died. Not really gore like but suspenseful for sure. There are other films that followed and I liked them as well. The original is the best in my opinion. If your kids watch too much TV this may be the movie that makes them stop.
Halloween the original 1978 movie. Simply because of Michael Myers. Not to much gore. Just enough. There are other Halloween movies within the series. I recommend to watch them all especially if you have become a fan of the first film.
The Shining. The amazing trifecta. Jack Nicholson, Stanley Kubrick, and Stephen King. This movie is long and it is deep. Be prepared to have questions. It’s a mind game. You can watch YouTube videos based on peoples thoughts, questions, and theories.
The Exorcist. Not for the weak. It messes with you. Especially if you are religious. Two words Demonic Possession. If you are easily scared maybe watch it in the day time.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 1994 version. Creepy guy comes alive in your dreams… say good bye to never sleeping again. Good luck watching this one. Its one of those films that stays with you even after you finish the movie. Robert Englund, Wes Craven and Johnny Depp.
Psycho 1960 version. Slower paced thriller. Alfred Hitchcock’s directed film. Film is in black and white. Stars: Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. Janet Leigh happens to be Jaime Lee Curtis mom in real life and are both awesome horror queens. If your boyfriend is a mommy’s boy this movie might scare you even more.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I love the remake as well as the classic. So I suggest you watch both. Try watching the classic first. If you never gave chainsaws a second look, think again. Many people after watching this cannot stand even hearing anything that sounds like a chainsaw without getting the chills. They don’t call him Leather Face for nothing. Plenty of Gore. Be warned.
Night of The Living Dead 1968 version by George A Romero. First zombie film I saw and got hooked. It is not a very long movie and a little slow at times but if you love current zombie movies you must pay homage to the classic which paved the way for many more zombies films and shows and comics.
