The only spoiler is that Deku cries. There! I had to say it.
To get a better understanding of when the timeline of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising takes place, it’s a little bit ahead of the manga and further along than the current season of the anime as well. All twenty of the students of Class 1-A have a special school assignment related to their hero work. This assignment gives them the opportunity to truly find out what kind of heroes they want to be and what being a hero in the community is all about. It’s not all about fighting villains, and the term “save the day” has a lot of different meanings to a bunch of different people.
It’s called the “Hero Work Recommendation Project,” and the entire class is on an island south of Japan. Instead of pro hero supervision, they’re on their own.
A lot of your favorite characters from the superhuman society show up. Some play bigger roles than others. For fans of the anime and the manga, there are a lot of awesome surprises that come up in this fun and inspiring film.
The animation in My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is visually awesome. Shout out to Funimation for the consistent quality in their anime! When the film began, I thought I was watching an actual car commercial, but nope! It was a car chase. Yes, there’s a car chase. If that minor spoiler turns you off, then I’m sorry. The voice acting was great, and the story was fast-paced and fun. There were moments of, “How are they going to get out of this?” and real suspense happening throughout. This was definitely a great watch.
My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is in select theaters in North America, Japan, and Europe in both dubbed and subbed audio on February 26, 2020. Get your tickets right now! Tickets for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising
